Through the Looking Glass. Down the Rabbit Hole.

Have you ever had one of those days where you start to question life and how fragile it can be? Today was one of those days. You feel a though your heart stops as it drops to the floor, but it keeps falling down the rabbit hole. You question your response. Why can’t my body move? Why am I screaming but I can’t hear my voice? Why aren’t I more poised?  I search for answers, but the only rationale I can offer to these situations is to stop. Take a breath, know that life is nothing but a journey that we can’t always predict, but can intuitively see what experiences lay before us. The clichés ensue with nothing is ever certain…we have no warranty for this life. Knowing that we have the power to create our own path, only we can imprint our souls into the sand alongside the footprints that guide us. The footprints that hold our hands through these times. The footprints that we are eternally grateful for each and everyday.
Now I can smile again.

Coco Chanel vs. Mary-Kate Olsen. A Fash-Off or Fash-Faux Pas?

Coco Chanel once said that before you leave the house you should take off one piece of jewellery. This is a fabulous piece of advice from one of the most elegant and effortlessly stylish women in fashion second to none.  As I am an advocate for the final ‘Edit’ to any outfit, I thought about this for a minute, and this shot of Mary-Kate Olsen came to mind. Ironically carrying a Chanel chain bag, surmised to say, it is the perfect antithesis to this philosophy. In this shot, Mary-Kate represents the confidence that is the beating heart of a true free spirit,  yet still remaining ever guarded to those on the outside looking in. However, does Chanel’s stylistic paradigm scoff at those who choose to express themselves in a ‘more is more’ approach to accessorising? I have to say, as long as one stays true to themselves and their own convictions, often inadvertently expressed through fashion, then one will always be instyle. Bless.
